The bricks were cleaned this week. The side garage door frame copped a hammering (again) from the acid because the frame had not been protected. The building inspector we hired told them to protect the door before cleaning the bricks but some people don't listen. We've been told the corrosion will be scraped off before they paint, so we'll see.
Have a look at the photo:

The brickwork is mostly good........

....but some of the old faults like bricks overhanging the slab (disguised with lots of mortar)....

....and cracked bricks in certain areas (under alfresco doors)...

Unfortunately, because the builder has tried to re-use the other items around the bricks, we have some other faults, especially with the pergola on the front elevation...

Our patience is wearing thin with all these issues that just keep continuing to occur. The positive thing is we are making some progress.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles so far.. I've heard so much about the bad customer service that EB provide... is all the bad press true? Good luck with the rest of your build!
I think a lot of builders provide poor customer service. Building really needs to be more regulated. The problem is, builders don't see much repeat business so they don't care so much about customer service. Builders don't understand one unhappy customer can cost them quite a few jobs.
I'd say Eden Brae's customer service is about the same as any other project builder.
Hi guys, dread reading how much trouble you're having with EB, since we'll be starting our build with them in a month or so !!!
Our CSR (Sally-she's ok with me using her name)is absolutely a wonder- efficient, quick, knowledgable. I can't say enough about how professional she has been.
Just wish that same professionalism will transfer over to whoever our site supervisor will be. Me thinks the odds are against that happening.
Best wishes to you both that all your problems are resolved quickly.
Yvonne
