Our brickwork is so bad the builder is pulling all the brickwork down and re-doing it. While we appreciate the builder did not force us to go the Fair Trading to rectify the brickwork, we had to go up the management chain at Eden Brae towards the end of the project to get them to address the brickwork. The site supervisor did a poor job there. The house is pretty much done apart from some minor faults and some painting, but now we have to wait a few weeks for all the brickwork to be done.
Our bulkhead above the kitchen will not fit our rangehood despite the rangehood model being specified in the contract up front, drawings provided and so on. Again, another kitchen stuff-up. We're going to have to figure out some compromise there. The builder wants us to wear the insurance risk on the rangehood because they might have to install it before settlement. The answer as far as we are concerned is NO WAY!!

Hope things will turn a corner soon, so you can finally move in.
We are also building with Eden Brae and I have to say so far so good. But after reading your blog......I just hope everything will stay good.

Hi Interesting reading, sounds like a horror story really. We are actually building with EB in the Rouse Hill region and are at brick stage, so it sounds like our fun is about to start.
I would be interested in knowing your site supervisors name and the name of the sub contract companies who have been working on your home.

We have been followng the progress of the construction of your home for some time now with interest as we will begin building with Eden Brae (Saville 27) very soon.
We have been a little alarmed at some of the glaring faults that have occured (r.e. brickwork and kitchen problems), and must admit, we are a little wary.
How have you found the overall reaction from the builder as far as all of these problems?
Also, not sure if you can tell us, but we would love to know the name of the brickie so we can keep an eye on things :).

The brickie we originally had has been sacked or left of his own accord. The other brickies we have had have been quite good. Unfortunately, all the work needs to be pulled out to make sure the bricks match correctly.
The site supervisor's name starts with 'S'. We won't use their real name at this stage.
There seem to be a few people who are good to deal with, such as the construction manager.
